Cod almighty! Your votes have rocketed Foster’s Fish and Chips into the top three in the whole of Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

After making it into Wilmslow’s final of our Chippy of the Year 2010, a text vote secured its place in the final trio, along with Tony’s Stadium Chippy in Eastlands and Langley Fryery in Middleton.

Mum of two Kath Foster, 34, of Bedells Lane, Wilmslow who runs the chippy with husband Gareth, said: “It’s our manager Francine  Creswell’s birthday today so the timing is perfect!

“We are absolutely thrilled, honestly I think it’s a really big deal.

“Thanks so much to all our customers. We’ve never been involved in a text vote before, so for people to actually take the time out and vote for us is amazing.”

And Kath reckons she, Gareth, and their core team of Fran, Johnny Hannah and Michelle Bell have what it takes to pit their chips against the other two finalists.

“We’ve got 15 years’ experience under our belts so hopefully we’ll go all the way.

The mum of two added: “We’ve just opened another shop in Didsbury and I have to say our staff have been absolutely superb so thank you to them.”

All three chippy owners will now be invited to Monday’s Gala Dinner of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival where the winner will be announced.
