CHRIS Jackson, 21, is a Police Community Support Officer for Disley and has been a familiar face among Disley residents since he started in April last year.

Chris, who lives in Heaton Chapel, has a partner of three years and lists football and going out as his favourite hobbies.

A lifelong Manchester United fan, he is passionate about his role in the community and, while admiring the roles of police officers, he has no plans to hang up his PCSO hat just yet.

He said: "My day-to-day life in Disley is one that I truly love. I can be walking down the street saying hello to all of the shop owners and workers, when I hear a little boy or girl shouting my name and saying hello from the other side of the road.

"It’s moments like that which I think are great. Hopefully just having a little understanding between me and the kids might deter them away from getting in trouble a bit later on in life.

"On other days, I can be providing reassurance to victims of crime and providing them with the best service possible.

"I would like to think that just by patrolling the village we are deterring crime and hopefully making Disley an even better place to live."

The worst thing about Macclesfield is... The weather; it isn’t great walking around in rain, hail or snow, especially with all those hills in Disley.

My favourite place in Macclesfield is... Lyme Park, some of the views from in there are fantastic. It’s a place I regularly go to when not on duty to relax.

Ideally I would spend every day... Helping people. I suppose I could say I am already doing what I want to do ideally, being a Police Community Support Officer for Disley enables me to help people on a daily basis.

My favourite night out is... Anywhere where my partner, friends and family will be, location isn’t a big thing for me. It’s who’s there that’s important.

The best holiday I’ve been on was... Two years ago I took my partner to Turkey for her birthday. It was fantastic and a real chance to wind down for a few weeks. We had a great time and met some fantastic people, some of whom we are still in contact with today.

If money was no object I would... Give up work and do volunteer work full time. I feel that there just aren’t enough volunteers out there to help with various organisations so me being able to do so on a full-time basis, and not having to worry financially, would be great.

My one piece of advice would be... To all children ‘knuckle down at school’. I know they hear it on a regular basis, but I can’t stress enough how important education is, it can help get you where you want to be in life. All of your education is important but it’s those final two years of Year Ten and 11 of high school where you must give it everything you have. Two years isn’t a long time, for a lifetime of being educated.

My first job was... As a paperboy, the early mornings drove me crazy. Though the worst thing was the papers on Sundays with all those supplements in, the paperbag weighed a ton.

If I could do one thing again it would be... To be a child again, it’s quite scary how fast time goes and just to have some time back would be great.

What I am reading now is... At the moment I am not really reading anything. The only time I manage to finish any novels is when I am on holiday, otherwise I seem to start a lot and never finish them.

On my CD player is... 100 R ‘n’ B Classics. It was a gift from my partner so I feel I should at least give it a listen.

My favourite TV show is... Well, seen as though the football season has just kicked off, it would have to be Match of the Day as I am a big Man United fan. Prior to the last two weeks, funnily enough, it would have had to have been Prison Break. I’ve watched all episodes at least twice now.

My biggest inspiration has been... My partner. She is extremely focused and she puts 100 per cent effort into everything she does. Seeing her so determined just makes me want to do well in life, and as a person.

If I could invite anyone round for tea it would be... Richard Branson so hopefully he’d leave a tip, my best bud Adam – he’s a decent laugh and a good conversation starter, Lee Evans and Peter Kay to provide the entertainment. And Gordon Ramsay to cook for us.
