Fire crews were called to a total of 230 bonfire related incidents across Cheshire between October 17 and November 6.

These included several arson attacks as well as bonfires which had got out of control.

“Our aim is not to stop people from having fun, it is about keeping people safe as they enjoy what should be a fun family event.

“We know all too well the devastating impact the misuse of fire and fireworks can have and so are committed to doing all we can to prevent it.

"I would also like to thank everyone who took our advice and attended an organised display rather than putting on their own.”
