The father of a groom has denied assaulting police officers at a wedding.

Stephen Dingle, 52, pleaded not guilty to two charges of assaulting police at Hollin Hall Country House Hotel in Kerridge, Macclesfield, on August 2.

Mr Dingle, of Oak Tree Drive, Crewe, also denied criminal damage when he appeared at Crewe magistrates’ court on October 1.

Three other people have also denied charges related to an alleged incident at the wedding of Melanie and Anthony Dingle.

Laura Patricia Breeze, 30, of Remer Street, Crewe, denied willfully obstructing and assaulting a police officer and assaulting Anthony Dingle, the groom.

Neil Whike, 47, of Beeston Mount, Bollington, denied two charges of assaulting and willfully obstructing police and criminal damage.

Samantha Joanne Whike, 20, of Beeston Mount, Bollington, denied willfully obstructing and assaulting a police officer and criminal damage.

A trial has been set at the same court for February 15, next year.
