Families and community groups turned out for the summer Party on the Carrs.

Audiences enjoyed singing and dancing, children played games and there was a variety of stalls at the event organised by Wilmslow Town Council.

It was held as a follow-up to last summer’s busy Jubilee party in the park.

The town council was supported at the event by Alderley District Scout Band, which is this year celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Past and present members performed together during

the party event’s finale.

Councillor Keith Purdom, chairman of Wilmslow Town Council, said: “The Party on the Carrs was another really successful event, with great entertainment, great weather and most pleasingly a great turnout.

“The town council has organised and funded this event for the last two years and I’m delighted that the time, effort and funding has produced an event that many Wilmslow residents have enjoyed.

“The event brought together local groups and I would like to thank them, the volunteers on the day and my council colleagues for making this event happen.”
