A design by an 11-year-old student from Macclesfield has been chosen to appear on the council’s 2015 Christmas card.

Ellie Hill’s design of antlers, baubles and Christmas stockings with a Merry Christmas message was selected from competition entries from more than 100 primary and special schools in the Borough.

Ellie, who goes to Puss Bank Primary School and won a family pass to Jodrell Bank, submitted her entry as part of the Council’s annual Christmas card competition for children across the Borough.

She said: “Art is my favourite subject and I am always drawing things at home.

“The design just popped into my head and I am so thrilled to have been chosen for the Council’s official Christmas card.”

The entries were judged by Councillor George Hayes, deputy Cabinet member for children’s services, and the Council’s chief executive Mike Suarez. Coun Hayes said: “The designs we received were of an extremely high standard and we congratulate Ellie on being chosen.

“It is always a joy to see children’s designs and artwork and on this occasion it was extra special.

“Ellie’s creative flare really caught my eye.”
