IT looks like a scene from the African savannah, but this picture of deer under a tree at dusk was taken in a local beauty spot.

Award-winning wildlife photographer Ben Hall took the dramatic photograph – one of many that will feature in a major exhibition – in Lyme Park.

Ben, 31, from Hazel Grove, Stockport, honed his skills in the Peak District before heading north to Scotland and beyond.

His best shots will be displayed in a two-month show at Chester’s Grosvenor Museum from September 12.

And among those sure to turn heads is this shot of deer at sunset in the Disley-based park.

Ben said: "The exhibition presents a collection of my favourite images taken during the past three years."

Ben has won numerous awards for his work, including ‘Nature’s Best’ Photography Awards USA, ‘Birdwatch’ Digital Photography Awards and ‘Geographical’ Photographer of the Year.

"My approach to wildlife photography lies in the creative art of ‘seeing’," he explained. "My aim is to use my pictures to generate an emotional response."
