Macclesfield MP David Rutley is giving six local sixth formers the chance to become an MP for the day.

The chosen six will spend a day at Westminster with the MP and find out more about parliamentary work.

Mr Rutley MP is hosting the Parliamentary Induction Day on Tuesday, October 22. Students will sit in on debates in the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

Mr Rutley said: “I am privileged to represent the people of Macclesfield and work in the Palace of Westminster everyday. It is important that as many local people as possible have the opportunity to experience Parliament and find out more about how Westminster works.”

Anyone interested should email lynda.fryer@parliament.uk and include their age, school or college, address and phone number.
