A cyclist who was in an accident on the Silk Road during rush hour has thanked the good samaritans who stopped to help.
Steve Booth, 56, from Shrigley Road in Bollington, was heading to work at about 8.15pm when he was in a collision with a black Mercedes at the roundabout near Tytherington. He came off his bike and landed on his back in middle of the roundabout.
Steve - who luckily escaped with only cuts and bruises - was helped by about six people, including the driver of the car involved, who assisted him until the police and ambulance arrived.
Steve, who is a medical education manager at Macclesfield hospital and a trained first aider, said: “I just want to say thank you to everyone who stopped. I thought I ad done some real harm to my neck. I was conscious of traffic coming around. I just had to clench my teeth and cross my fingers they saw me. One lady came straight over and helped me - she wouldn’t let me close my eyes in case I drifted off - and there were other people directing traffic around me. I really can’t thank everyone enough. They must have been there for at least half an hour. ”
The accident was about 8.15am on Wednesday, September 14.
