A TEENAGER has been fined for possessing a canister of CS gas.
Macclesfield magistrates heard that Gareth Fitzgerald, of Tilston Walk, Wilmslow, had found the canister but didn't realise how serious it was to keep it.
The court was told 18-year-old Fitzgerald was searched by a police officer in Bank Square, Wilmslow, after being alerted by a security guard.
Magistrates heard Fitzgerald had hidden the canister in the left leg bottom of his trousers but had no intention of using it.
He admitted the offence and was fined £100 and ordered to pay £50 court costs.
