From slippery scales to lounging lizards, youngsters and families will be able to meet a whole host of cold-blooded creatures at a new wildlife experience.

Manchester Airport’s Runway Visitor Park is inviting people to experience Crocodile Joe’s Wild World, a really wild, interactive show in which youngsters can learn about reptiles while getting up close and personal with them.

A keen conservationist and reptile specialist, Crocodile Joe was given his name by Aborigines while working with zoologists during a ten-year spell in Australia.

During his time Down Under, Joe worked with the Aborigines and zoologists tracking crocodiles for research purposes.

He also spent time rescuing and relocating dangerous animals, such as snakes, from residential areas.

The lizard lover will provide runway park visitors with a rare chance to meet his wide selection of rescued exotic animals.

They can also discover which far-flung destinations the animals can be found in.

Launching on July 13, Crocodile Joe’s Wild World will be hosted on seven weekends throughout the summer as part of a programme of events at the centre.

The park is also home to Concorde, the world’s first supersonic airliner.

Crocodile Joe said: “We’re thrilled to team up with Manchester Airport for what will be a really exciting summer.

“This is a brilliant opportunity for visitors to get up close to rescue snakes, geckos, skinks and other exotic animals to learn about welfare, conservation and discover where these animals can be found around the world.”

Crocodile Joe’s Wild World will be coming to the Runway Visitor Park on July 13 and 26, as well as August 3, 10, 16, 24 and 30.
