TWO YOUNG fans will put their best feet forward for their beloved Macclesfield Town with a sponsored walk to the game this weekend.

Cousins Harry Irlam and George Blackshaw, 14, have organised the walk to the Macclesfield Town FA Cup game against Sheffield Wednesday to raise money for the struggling club.

They will walk 11 miles from Mobberley to the Moss Rose for the crucial third round match which would move the club into the fourth round and could bank it £67,500.

The boys want to raise as much money as they can for the club which faces the fight of its life to survive.

King's pupil Harry, who lives in Mobberley, has been going to Macclesfield games since he was five and encouraged cousin George, from Lower Stretton, to join him on the walk.

He said:  “I used to go with my dad and granddad and now I'm a season ticket holder.

“So the club has been in my heart since a young age. I enjoy going week in week out and when I saw the club was in big financial trouble I kept thinking of ways I could do my bit and help out.

“I want to help the team in every possible way so the fans and I can go and enjoy watching them at the moss rose every week.

"Me and George are looking for as many sponsors as we can and really appreciate everybody's support."
