A couple who have been searching for a lost wedding ring for SIX years are appealing for Maxonians to help in a last-ditch attempt to find it.

Mike Roberts lost his precious ring while he was competing in a Macclesfield Trials event at Roughedge Quarry, in 2011.

But he has refused to replace it with a new one in the hope the original will be returned.

Now he and wife Andrea are hoping may have been found and is being kept somewhere safe.

Andrea, who married Mike in March 2010, said it’s a ‘long shot’ but worth a try.

She said:

“I am asking for your help after all this time as all other avenues we have tried have basically hit a brick wall.

“Obviously all wedding rings are special but ours more so as a family friend was actually a jeweller and we had them specially made.

“If (Mike) can be reunited it would be amazing as he doesn’t want a replacement, only the ring with which we said our wedding vows and committed to each other forever.”

The ring is pure platinum band with unusual hallmarks.
