A young couple say their lives have been transformed after scooping an all expenses paid dream wedding.

Rick Taylor, 29, originally from Prestbury, and Jenni Booth, 30 were the lucky couple who came out on top in the Win a Wedding competition run by our sister paper the Manchester Evening News.

There were tears of joy as the couple were announced as the winners at the Worsley Marriott Hotel and Country Club in Salford where their celebration will be held.

Recruitment consultant Jenni and salesman Rick collected more tokens than any of the more than 400 other entrants to claim the coveted prize.

And they say it as a ‘dream come true’ as they get ready tie the knot in September, two years earlier than they originally planned.

Our Win A Wedding announcement ceremony

The ceremony will be conducted at St Peter’s Church in Rick’s hometown of Prestbury.

And they will then make their way in luxury over to the hotel for the reception.

The amazing package includes rings, the dress, groom wear, flowers, cars, catering and much more - all provided by our sponsors.

That’s as well as a seven-day honeymoon to the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia.

Jenni said: “I just can’t believe it. We were over the moon just to be in the final three. But we were hoping and praying that we’d done enough.

“It took a while to sink after our names were read out. It’s going to change our lives, it really is.”

The couple, who live in Droylsden, were joined by Jenni’s mum, Margaret, and step-dad John and sister Adele as well as Rick’s mum, Carol, at the announcement.

They began dating three and a half years ago after meeting when they both worked at the telecoms firm Virgin Media.

They moved in together a year later and Rick popped the question in July last year after whisking her off for a romantic break in Fethiye in Turkey.

But Jenni said she could never dreamt of a wedding like this.

Rick said: “We saw the competition and just decided to go for it, and for the past month it has literally been our lives.

“We’re so grateful for the help we had from family and friends. It’s going to be an unbelievable day and we just can’t wait now.
