Council staff are working to clear the backlog of bin collections in Bollington caused by the snow.

If residents’ waste was not collected on Friday they were advised to put bins back out this morning (Monday).

A Cheshire East spokesman said: "Crews will do their best to catch up with the backlog today – but this may not be possible and some collections may fall into Tuesday. If your bin has not been collected by Monday evening leave it out for collection on Tuesday.

"However, this will be dependent on weather conditions over the next few days."

All crews have left the depot to start today's work. As weather conditions in the north were less severe than in the south on Friday, fewer areas were missed.

Those not collected included about 25 in the Bollington, Alderley Edge and Wilmslow areas in total and one lorry has been sent out to deal with these.
