In last week’s column, Vic Barlow incorrectly blamed Cheshire East Council for disruption to traffic and local businesses due to roadworks at the junction of Ivy Road and Congleton Road, in Macclesfield.
The Express accepts that this work was actually being carried out by National Grid (as part of its scheme to upgrade the town’s gas mains) and not Cheshire East.
We would like to apologise to the council for this error.
