A POSH charity shop in Alderley Edge has been getting more than its usual share of pricey goods and volunteers have decided to auction them off to the highest bidder.

Sought-after collectables to be snapped up at the Marie Curie auction running this month include a sequinned frock donated by aerobics queen Rosemary Conley.

Manager Linda Jones said: "We've been collecting higher value items, people are really generous and give nice things.

"The beautiful dress should be popular and there are some collectable pieces, including some artwork I'm sure people will want.

"It won't be a blind auction, people can see the bids and go higher."

Bidding starts on Monday, September 7, and stops at midday on September 30.

Payment has to be made and the item collected within seven days or will go to to next bidder.

Linda added: "The manager's decision is final.

"I hope we can raise some extra money, I have first-hand experience of what angels the Marie Curie nurses are."

Auction items include jewellery, pictures, ceramics, cameras, games table and stamp albums.
