A serial flasher has walked free from court.

Peter Zylstra exposed himself to two schoolgirls on Congleton Road in Macclesfield, the court heard.

A judge was told that Zylstra had previously exposed himself to a female dog walker in 2013, when he was seen ‘moaning and groaning’, Mr Roberts said.

The victim ran away but courageously returned to check where Zylstra was living before calling the police, the court heard.

He denied it and was not charged at the time, Mr Roberts said.

He was arrested three months after the incident involving the schoolgirls after one of the young victims recognised him in the street, the court heard.

The court was told that Zylstra was seen ‘staring expressionless’ at one of the victim’s houses both before and after the incident in 2014.

Churchgoer Zylstra, of Congleton Road, admitted three charges of indecent exposure at South Cheshire magistrates court on January 8.

He was given a three-year community order with supervision at Chester Crown Court on Friday.

Sentencing, Judge Roger Dutton, said: “Children and women must not expect to see a man doing this kind of thing in their presence.

“It’s disgusting and upsetting.

“There are issues in your personal life and medical history, but there must be another way to deal with these problems.”

The court was told that Zylstra, 30, suffered from a sexual problem he was trying to overcome when he began revealing himself in public.

Judge Dutton also ordered Zylstra to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years and attend group therapy.

He added: “Locking you up for a few weeks would result in you losing your job and everything that is going well for you.

“That would be disastrous.

“You have a lot to do to regain your self-respect and the respect of those who support you.

“Go back to your life and stop upsetting people who don’t deserve it.”

Defending, Mark Connor said: “He has no sexual interest in girls of that age. He got himself into a mess committing a serious offence while attempting to cure his sexual issues.

“It has had a devastating effect on his wife and children.”
