Children at Bosley St Mary’s Primary School enjoyed a very noisy final week before breaking up for the school holidays.
They spent the week taking part in a number of performances and workshops, including African drumming, dancing and circus skills.
Rachel Mortishire-Smith, Key Stage Two class teacher, said: “The entire school, including Bobkins Nursery, was off-timetable for the week and immersed themselves in a host of fantastic experiences of singing, dancing, acting and all-round music-making. Each day we enjoyed visits from local performers, both amateur and professional, and also from Eaton Bank secondary school. The children loved it.”
The children have also been busy investigating the science of sound, and composing and playing their own music, including making musical instruments out of everything from biscuit tins and copper piping to a scale of J2O bottles and a carrot recorder.”
Key Stage Two also present their play The Vicious Vikings, which has been written and rehearsed all term with visiting drama teacher Ms Chloe Plant.
Rachel added: “Our toes are still tapping and ears still ringing as we end a great summer term.”
