Officers are appealing for help to trace a man they would like to speak to in relation to a number of burglaries.

They want to speak to 43-year-old Mark Fitton, who is originally from Oldham and has links to Northern Ireland, in relation to a number of offences in towns and villages around Cheshire, including in Macclesfield.

He is described as white, around 5 foot 7 inches in height, of stocky build, with short black greying hair. He has blue eyes and is usually clean shaven.

Fitton is not considered a risk to the public but police are keen to trace him as part of their investigation.

Detective Inspector Nigel Groom said: "I would urge anyone who has seen Mark Fitton, or knows of his recent or current whereabouts, to contact us on 101.

“Similarly, I make a personal appeal to Mark himself to come forward and present himself at his nearest police station."

Anyone with any information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 and ask to speak to DC Dave Healy.
