Cheshire police launch new website for young people

The website - www.upbeat.uk.com - is aimed at 16-20 year olds and gives advice and information such as how to look after yourself on a night out and what you need to do when you're learning to drive.

Police in Cheshire have launched a website aimed at young people.

The website - www.upbeat.uk.com - is aimed at 16-20 year olds and gives advice and information such as how to look after yourself on a night out and what you need to do when you're learning to drive.

The website has been written by a young person to convey these messages effectively.

In the future young people will be able to use interactive polls and blogs on the site.

Multimedia Assistant Jenny van Deursen said: "It was important to get the information across in a way that would be most suitable which is why we wanted the opinions of young people. The website will be developed in the future for other young age groups with information relating to various issues."
