Age UK Cheshire East is inviting over-50s to get involved in an Older People's Day on October 1.

The Health and Wellbeing Centre at the junction of Crossall Street and Elizabeth Street in Macclesfield, is open between 10am and 1pm for people to drop in and sample some of the activities run by Age UK Cheshire East and get free advice that may improve their financial as well as their physical well being.

On the day, the charity will give away vouchers to try a new activity for free. You can try Zumba, pilates, walking groups and more.

For those interested in the arts, there are sessions and craft clubs to join. Men might be interested in having a morning’s potter in the impressively equipped Shed.

Tea and homemade cakes are on offer too.

Madelyn Bridge, Chief Executive of Age UK Cheshire East said: "We are very concerned that too many people are not seeking out the help that we know is available to them.

"Keeping active and financially secure are two of the major factors in a successful later life. We already help around 11,000 people each year, but we know that for every one we help there are at least two others who need it."
