The police have released footage showing missing Caspar Blackburn's last known movements.

The 22-year-old, who works an assistant manager of Carpetright in Macclesfield, was last seen at the Slug and Lettuce Waterside in Sale, Trafford , in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He was sitting on a bench outside the bar with friends, but did not go back inside with the group. Caspar has not been seen since.

Caspar has not turned up for his job at Carpetright, at Lyme Green, and has not been to collect his Nissan 350Z left outside a friend’s home.

Detectives have now released CCTV footage showing him leaving the Slug and Lettuce at 1.55am.

They are urging anyone who was in Sale on Saturday night or the early hours of the morning to get in touch with any photos or videos they took in the area.

Meanwhile, they have resumed their search of the Bridgewater Canal and surrounding areas in their search for Caspar, whose disappearance has been described as ‘totally out of character’ by his distraught father.

DI Carl Gilbert said the force will carry on searching for Caspar for ‘as long as it takes’.

“We’re really concerned about Caspar because this is so unusual for him to disappear like this,” he added.

“He’s never been missing before, he was out with his friends at 2am on a morning at the Slug and Lettuce in Sale.

“He’s walked out of the pub, sat on a bench outside and he’s not been seen since. He only had a t-shirt on, his phone’s not been used since it’s just really worrying that no-one has heard from him since.

“There are lots of people who have contacted us and we’re really grateful for that information, but we really need anyone who was in Sale in the early hours of Sunday morning who may have seen Caspar, even if they are not sure, to contact us.

“Particularly, anyone who may have any photos or video images that they took in sale in the early hours of the morning, we could really do with seeing those to make sure that Caspar can’t be seen somewhere there.

“We are looking through every part of Sale, we’ve got lots of officers out there searching. We are currently searching the canals too as he was last seen near the canal.

“We’ve got detectives speaking to his friends trying to track down anything we can. Unfortunately, the last time we’ve seen Caspar was 2am on Sunday morning.

“The search is going all the way along the canal, it will keep going further and further. Obviously we have to start at the most likely location which was near the Slug and Lettuce.

“He’s not turned up at work, he always turned up at work, even when he was sick. He’s not spoken to any of his friends or his family.

“They [Caspar’s family] have to keep some hope. We’re still searching and we may well find him, but they are really concerned for him.

“That’s why it’s really important for us to speak to anyone who was in Sale on Sunday morning, who might have seen Caspar or even people who might have taken some pictures or video footage out in Sale night.

“We might just be able to spot Caspar in the background and find out something further about where he’s gone.

“We are going to keep searching until we find Caspar. That doesn’t mean we can carry on searching the canal forever there has to be some point at which we’re pretty confident he’s not there.

“His phone was used in Sale, near the Slug and Lettuce, then it doesn’t move from there.

“We’re following up every single lead we are getting. If someone tells us they have seen someone who looks a bit like Caspar, or even someone who they are a little concerned about, who they may have seen drunk or fall over we’re following up every line of enquiry.

“It’s very out of character. The last time his friends saw him he was sat on a bench. He may well have wandered off but at the moment we don’t know.

“He was happy. He was having a good night, his boss the other day said he’d been really looking forward to that night out and when he left the pub from the CCTV, he just seems to be walking out after a good night.

“We have had quite a few people contact us already, but really we want anyone else to contact us we really do need people to tell us, who were in Sale on that Sunday morning, if they have seen Caspar.”

Caspar is 5ft 8in and has short ginger hair. He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt and blue jeans.
