Cannabis farms have been discovered at in two flats in Park Green.

The owner raised the alarm after discovering 200 plants growing at the unoccupied properties on Park Green.

Police were called and found an elaborate set-up of equipment to grow the plants. The discovery was made at 11am on March 31.

The flats are above Anah’s Restaurant and Takeaway with access via external stairwells either side of business. They are not connected to the restaurant, which recently closed.

Police forensic teams have been at the property for the past two days.

Police are unable to confirm the value of the haul, but previous cannabis farms of this size have produced drugs with a street value of tens of thousands of pounds.

A spokesman for Macclesfield police said: “At around 11am on the 31 March police attended two addresses on Park Green in Macclesfield after receiving a call from the owner of the properties who was suspicious about what he had found when he entered.

“Officers went to the address and found a large quantity of cannabis plants and associated equipment.”

Anyone who might have any information should call 101.
