Halloween is creeping up on us and bonfires are being planned to light up the dark nights, so we’ve brought you a list of some of the biggest events in town.
- As usual a huge firework display will take place at the Tytherington Club on Dorchester Way on Thursday, November 5, with food and a funfair. Gates open at 5.30pm, the bonfire is at 6.30pm and fireworks are expected at 7pm. Call 01625 506000 or see thetytheringtonclub.com/fireworks for tickets.
- Prestbury Golf Club holds its event on Friday, November 6. The bonfire is lit at 5.30pm with fireworks at 7.30pm.
- On Saturday, November 7, there is a family bonfire and firework display at Henbury Millennium Green. Tickets will be sold on the gate. Gates open at 5pm and the bonfire is lit at 5.30pm with a firework display at 6.15pm.
- Macclesfield Cricket Club will also hold its display on the Saturday. Gates open at 6.30pm with the bonfire lit at 7pm and the display at 8pm. See macclesfield.play-cricket.com.
- Poynton Park holds its bonfire on the Saturday with all proceeds donated to local charities. Gates open at 5.30pm. See poyntonbonfire.co.uk.
- The bonfire at the Church House Inn in Sutton is from 7pm on the Saturday with live music. Call 01625 252436.
- The Pott Shrigley event is on Saturday at Pott Shrigley Cricket Field from 7pm.
- Kerridge Cricket Club’s bonfire is also on Saturday with the bonfire lit at 6.30pm and visitors asked to bring fireworks.
- Styperson Quarry Wood in Adlington is hosting Halloween Hunts on Saturday, October 31, from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm. Contact 01625 573 086.
- You can enjoy some bat-themed Halloween fun with special guests at Hare Hill Gardens on Saturday from 10am-4pm. Call 01625 827534 for details.
- For children aged 10 and under there is a Halloween Alternative Light Party on October 31 from 6pm-7.30pm at St Oswald’s Church, Bollington Cross.
- Fancy dress is optional with a prize for the brightest. Tickets are £2.50 for children and free for adults. Contact Bev Nixon on 01625 500970.
