ROVERS Return regulars will know that much respected barmaid Betty Turpin recently celebrated her 90th birthday.

Well the real Betty (Betty Driver) will be celebrating her real life 90th on May 22, at Morley Green Club in Wilmslow.

As Patron of Animal Support Volunteers, Betty will be attending a grand charity dinner in the company of Coronation Street star Simon Gregson, who plays Steve McDonald in the soap, and Manchester City’s most famous son, Mike Summerbee.

Betty’s hotpot will be replaced by a champagne reception and a three-course sit-down dinner including a half bottle of wine per person.

There’s a real chance to strut your stuff on the dance floor and a grand charity auction with some brilliant prizes.

Tickets are £35 each and if last year is anything to go by it’ll be a fantastic night out with all proceeds going to a worthy cause. I’ll be there to tend to your every need (honest!)

If you want to sing Happy Birthday to Betty book your tickets now. Contact Tony on 01625 419665 or mobile 07769 251637.
