A fire started in a wheelie bin in a Sutton garden and spread through a washing machine pipe into the kitchen.
One fire engine from Macclesfield attended the property at Walker Lane at about 5.30am on Sunday, and found the fire in the bin against the kitchen wall.
The smoke-logged property was ventilated.
There were no smoke alarms fitted at the property.
