A MOTORCYCLIST from Alderley Edge is in hospital after colliding with a car on Macclesfield Road yesterday (Sunday, November 22).

The 20-year-old rider was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital where his condition was described as poorly but stable this morning (Monday).

A red Honda motorbike collided with a green Renault 19 travelling in the opposite direction on the B5087 near The Wizard pub at 11.50am, according to Cheshire Police.

The driver of the car, a 37-year-old male, and his female passenger, both from Wallasey, were uninjured. The motorcyclist is believed to have been travelling from Macclesfield towards Alderley Edge when the collision.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident or someone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision.
