Macclesfield Town manager John Askey wants to make the Moss Rose a fortress again ahead of this weekend’s match against Lincoln City.

The Silkmen haven’t won at home since November, after beginning the season with seven wins out of their first 11 home games.

Askey is confident that they can end that poor run though, beginning when they take on the Imps on Saturday.

“It’s Lincoln next and we need that win to get us going and improve our home form,” he said.

“When you’re lacking confidence it’s difficult but we know that we’ve got to start playing better.

“We picked up a point against Altrincham on Saturday and that’s a start, but you could tell it were two teams playing that were desperate for a win.

“We were struggling to pass the ball and keep it in their final third and it makes it doubly difficult when you’re playing on a pitch that is not conducive to play.

“The good thing for us though is that everybody worked hard and we kept a clean sheet after limiting them to very few chances.

“We’ve taken four points off Altrincham this season so I hope that our fans are happy with that.”
