A family have launched a desperate bid to trace their missing dog.

There have been several sightings of Archie in the Prestbury and Mottram areas, as well as West Park and on Abbey Road heading towards Bollin Valley.

He went missing from Wards Lane, Mossley in Congleton on October 22.

The two-year-old black and white springer spaniel was staying in the area while his family, who come from Wigan, were on holiday.

Archie has a half-docked tail and three black spots above his right paw.

The family’s Facebook group Please Help Us Find Archie has thousands of members.

A social media campaign #findarchie was backed by music mogul Simon Cowell.

Supporter Karen Bown said: “The family have two little girls who are missing their pet dog dreadfully. This family really needs your help.”
