Crimestoppers is offering a £2,000 reward for information relating to an serious sexual offence.

The charity has issued the appeal after Neil Jackson, who police have been looking for since 2001, was believed to be spotted in Chester.

Derbyshire Police want to speak to Mr Jackson, 62, who has connections with Macclesfield, about an allegation made in 2001 that a young girl was assaulted in Peak Dale, Buxton.

It is believed a man matching Mr Jackson’s description was seen in Eastgate, Chester, on the afternoon of Sunday, November 15.

He looked similar to Mr Jackson’s passport photo, which is several years old, and wore a beanie or flat hat.

Mr Jackson has a number of tattoos on his left arm and back, including his own name.

He also has connections to Spain, especially Alicante.
