A boy killed in a rush-hour smash had just started at high school.

Flynn Morrissey died in hospital after the Ford Focus, being driven by his mum, was in collision with a Porsche Cayman on Alderley Edge bypass.

His older brother, Dylan, and mother both suffered minor injuries in the crash and are being treated in hospital

Flynn, from Sandbach, had just started in Year 7 at Wilmslow High.

In a statement on the school’s website, headteacher Gill Bremner said: “Sadly, one of our new Year 7 students, Flynn Morrissey, was killed in this accident. An older brother Dylan, who has just started year 11, was also involved in the accident: he has minor injuries and will hopefully be returning to school soon. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family.”

The male driver of the Porsche continues to be treated at Wythenshawe Hospital.
