PUPILS were stirred but not shaken when their headmaster turned up to school in an armed Jaguar from the new James Bond film.

Meadmore, Jonathan Meadmore, pulled into Pownall Hall playground in the XK8 sportscar, complete with Gatling gun, rocket launcher, deadly missiles and mortar bombs in the boot.

But he didn't have a View to a Kill and was instead fulfilling a lifelong dream of playing the ultimate British spy.

"I've always been a massive 007 fan - if there's a film coming out, I'm usually one of the first to see it. This car is just fantastic," he said.

And the only Q about was the orderly one round the car as pupils hurried to see a glimpse of the four-wheel fortress.

The car stars in the latest Bond blockbuster Die Another Day and was brought to the school by Royles Jaguar garage boss, Andrew Broomhead.

His daughter Molly, four, and son Charlie, six, attend the private school and were smiling from ear to ear when they saw dad behind the wheel of one of the most famous vehicles in the world.

Later Andrew drove the car two miles up the road to the Jaguar showroom. With its massive gun on the back, and its piercing green coach work it was the biggest head turner since Lady Godiva.

"It was a little bit different to drive, but basically it felt like a normal XKR convertible.

"But when I was driving down Hawthorn Lane, a lot of people did a double take because they couldnt believe what they were seeing."

Die Another Day is released this week.

Villain Zao, played by Rick Yune, drives the revamped Jag while Bond, Pierce Brosnan, has the Aston Martin Vanquish and Jinx, performed by Halle Berry, sports a Ford Thunderbird.
