Little vampires pulled their most blood-thirsty poses for a competition as part of Halloween celebrations.

Young shoppers paid a visit to the vampire ‘transformation station’ at the Grosvenor Centre for scary makeovers to have photos taken and be entered into a competition. The photo with the most likes on the centre’s Facebook page before 11am on November 9 will win prizes from the shops.

Jack Mercer, five, who was with his mum Nicky, couldn’t wait to have his face painted.

Nicky said: “Jack has had his face painted before but never looked as scary as this. He looked just like a mini vampire and was making all sorts of monster expressions.”

Alanna Heaven, three, was looking forward to taking her new baby brother Harry trick or treating.

Her mum Sammie Lovenbury said: “Alanna was really excited to have her face painted and be photographed looking so spooky. Now she wants to dress up Harry as a pumpkin so he can join in the celebrations.”

The event was among Halloween happenings around Macclesfield, including bashes at pub Mash Guru, the Railway View and The White Lion.
