The dates for the shutdown on garden waste collections have been announced.

Cheshire East Council will not make any green bin collections from Sunday, December 6, until Sunday, February 14.

This means anyone wishing to dispose of leaves, grass, bark and flowers will not be able to use their green bins for almost three months.

With the collections taking place only once every two weeks, this could mean that your final collection has already taken place, or is due to take place in the next few days.

Residents are urged to check the online calendar to find out the date of their final collection, with less than two weeks until the shutdown.

The decision to stop collecting bins used to dispose of garden waste was made following a public consultation last year.

Residents can dispose of green waste at household recycling centres around the borough including Macclesfield, Bollington and Poynton.
