Hundreds of children turned out to greet the stars of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom at Macclesfield’s Grosvenor Shopping Centre.

Princess Holly and friend, Ben the elf, had photos taken with their adoring fans, many who waited patiently in a long queue especially to see them.

Nine-year-old Annabel Kelly and her sister, Amy, aged two, were ‘spellbound’ on meeting the mischievous and magical pair.

Mum Briony said: “They just loved them - Amy watches it every day without fail – we have to have the reminder set on the television so she never misses it.

“She walks round the house with her own ‘wand’ so she can be like Princess Holly all the time.”

And Jacqueline Simpson, who brought her five-year-old daughter Chloe along to meet the pair, said: “She watches them all the time.

“She’s been really excited and loved it.

“There was a big crowd and a really nice atmosphere.”

Ed Kennedy, the manager at the Grosvenor Centre, declared the event a huge success.

He said: “I’m really pleased to see so many local families that have made the effort to come and see Ben and Holly here at the Grosvenor Centre.

“The event has proved to be really popular with visitors coming from far and wide and all the youngsters seemed to really enjoy meeting these characters”.
