Visitors to this year’s East Cheshire Hospice Art Fair can enjoy an exclusive tour with some of the artists themselves.

The East Cheshire Hospice Biennial Art Fair sees more than 100 artists display their work at Macclesfield Town Hall, with a percentage of the profits from artwork sold over the weekend going to the hospice.

Organisers of this year’s event – which runs from September 16 to 25 – have arranged three special art tours where guests can view and discuss the artwork with the artists themselves.

Fio Brereton, chair of Art Fair 2016, said: “We want to give visitors a really immersive experience.

“A guided tour by one of our exhibiting artists is a great way to find out more about the art on show and some of the inspiration behind it.

“Anyone can come along and join in.

“The tours are free, although we do ask that people buy their refreshments as all proceeds from our café go straight to East Cheshire Hospice.”

Susie Shackleton is among the artists exhibiting at the art fair.

More than 100 local, regional and international artists and craftspeople are taking part, including celebrated painters Ben Kelly, Deborah Goldsmith, Tim Gustard and Jenny Hirst.

The Art Fair also showcases work by textile artists, sculptors and potters, carpenters and jewellery makers.

Fio added: “Art Fair 2016 is a celebration of quality art and crafts.

“It’s a great way to support local artists, as well as giving people an opportunity to see and buy work by new and established artists.

“You don’t need to know anything about art to enjoy the exhibition, but if you’d like to know more then our Art Tours are just the thing.”

Tours take place at 11am on Saturday September 17, Monday September 19, and Thursday September 22, meeting just beforehand in the pop-up café in Macclesfield Town Hall.
