Hello, Does someone remember summer 1979 the youth hostel at Freiburg, in W-Germany? I would like to know the whereabout of a friend. She was former (?) resident of Macclesfield and finished school in 1979. Catherine came with a classmate to the Black Forest to learn German.(equal as other girls from Macclesfiel at YH Friedrichshafen or Feldberg) My name is Martin Koch and I am interested in hearing from anyone who can help me to find this lady.

   Hi

I wrote on March 30, regarding my husband's birth at St Mary's hospital, Prestbury Road. Have now found out this was most probably St Mary's Hospital, Prestbury, which was an annexe of St Mary's Hospital in Manchester. Does anyone who was around the Prestbury area in 1946, remember this hospital, was probably a large house, rather than a purpose built site.

Thanks in advance - mariepedlar@talktalk.net

G'day folks. I lived at Monks Heath from '68 to '71 and attended All Hallows CP. I was an apprentice motor mechanic at Monks Heath Motors and my father was a forester for Capesthorne Estate. I now live in Oz and would like to find two old friends. The first, Steve Leonard, lived originally on the Weston Estate and was also an apprentice at Monks Heath before getting married. Last I heard ('80s), he worked for DynoRod. The second, Roman Katschura, also attended All Hallows and lived with foster parents in Macclesfield and Congleton before moving to a foster home in Stockport. If anybody knows the whereabouts of my two freinds, I'd love to hear from you. E-mail: steves_8@hotmail.com

   Hello

Do any of your older readers remember a hospital called St Marys, on Prestbury Road, Macclesfield? My husband was born there in March 23 1946, according to his birth certificate and is trying to trace his birth parents? We haven;t been able to find any trace of this hospital on the internet. Thought it may have been a hospital or nursing home for unmarried mothers? We live in Lancashire so are able to visit anywhere that your readers may care to suggest.

Thanking. E-mail: mariepedlar@talktalk.net

Hello, My name is Scott Higginbotham and I live in the USA in the state of Georgia. As a family, we had visted Macclesfield in 1983 and I am searching for any relatives that may still be in the town. A relative named, Peter Higginbotham owned a movie theater at the time and two aunts by the name of Agnes and Kathleen lived on 7 Knowsley Road, but I am unsure of their last name (I am not sure if they were Higginbothams or not). If anyone has any information on my realtives or any others, please post the information. Regards, Scott - scott.higginbotham@hillphoenix.com
