Heat or eat

Exclusive by Rhiannon McDowall
24/ 9/2008

MACCLESFIELD pensioners staring down the barrel of a cold winter are facing a "heat or eat" choice as they struggle to foot soaring energy bills.

As the credit crunch bites, there is increasing concern for residents’ health and happiness after water companies followed gas and electricity suppliers in announcing sharp price rises in the coming months.

And the local branch of Age Concern fears older Maxonians may soon be forced to follow Rochdale pensioners in cancelling their Meals on Wheels as food prices rise too.

I should think that the wheatsheaf logo would have fed and heated them all. IF ONLY THEY HAD HAD A SAY IN THAT MONEY BEING SPENT.But instead the 100k wages wallers are so far up there own A,s full of self importance at what they are taking in wages off the ratepayers. They have domineered and over ruled the ratepayers wishes as to what they wanted. Never mind the people who are paying there 100k s per year. THEY ARE (INSULTINGLY) NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO HAVE A SAY WHERE THERE OWN MONEY IS SPENT IN MACCLESFIELD.

Agreed Slinky no wonder he's cold if he is using 10 pound notes to light his fire. Jim's also wrong when he says "you cant burn CD's" - he needs to get with the programme technology wise.

A long hard winter could spell disaster for old folk across Britain. Another sign of Britains decline into being a 3rd world nation.
