Campaigners fear planning u-turn is ‘plot in the game’
by Alex Bell17/ 9/2008
A BUILDING company’s u-turn on a planning application which threatened closure of a pub car park is part of "a plot in the game".
That was the fear of Bollington town councillor Sylvia Roberts when H Cumberbirch & Son Ltd withdrew their plans to build 14 houses in the Happy Valley.
Housing comes before parking and there are plenty of other pubs in the area. In these tough credit crunch times we need to encourage developments, the selfishness of the Red Lion drinkers will come home to roost for sure.
