Mum’s school closure fight is tribute to staff
by Chris Morris17/ 9/2008
A MOSS Estate mum whose son’s education was "rescued" by Ash Grove teachers is now on a mission to return the favour.
Linda Lockett is throwing her weight behind the campaign to save the Macclesfield primary school, joining the army of parents and pupils opposed to its closure.
I'm sure, Satisfied Customer, that the Council wouls give the opinion of an ex-pat living in Australia, the full weighting that it deserves...

Whilst Linda Lockett deserves to be commended for her stance she must appreciate that there will be casualties during the credit crunch and it looks like the number is up for Ash Grove. Both my kids had behavioural problems and I know first hand other schools in the area have the facilities to deal with wayward lads like Benjamin.

A heart warming story but in these tough economic times than can be no room for sentiment. A decision has been made - albeit a tough one - so it is essential that the school closes as planned. I will be writing to the council encouraging them that their stance is supported by the silent majority.
