Sir Nick under fire over climate views

by Alex Bell
10/ 9/2008

AN EAST Cheshire Green party member has slammed Sir Nicholas Winterton’s comments on global warming.

Just days after the MP released a column in the Macclesfield Express (Wednesday, August 27), entitled ‘Embrace Global Warming and Enjoy’, one key party player is on the warpath.

Out of touch, selfish, inept, sometimes I run short of adjectives to describe someone but never Boss Hogg.

No doubt his snout is in the trough of those companies whose products cause global warming. A man like this is morally bankrupt and only comments when it is his own personal interest or of the elites that he represents.

What a thoroughly factually barren article by the Macclesfield MP. The Green Party doesn't get good marks either; it's good for MPs to speak up, if they do so based on the facts on hand.

Sir Nick does not strike me as an expert on climate change, expert on picking up loose change maybe.

Sir Nick, that leading authority on climate change!

A rise in temperature being good for polar bears? Is he serious? Surely he has seen the numerous documentaries showing polar bears bobbing helplessly around the ocean on a tiny piece of ice? But don't worry, according to Sir Nick, they'll have plenty of fish to eat before they drown.

The days of even considering that human interaction has no impact on the environment are long gone and Sir Nick's comments, on a subject he quite clearly doesn't understand, show just how out of touch the man is.
