Barrister died in shoot-out

8/ 5/2008

THE parents of a Cheshire barrister shot dead by police during an armed siege have told how they have been left mystified by the tragedy

Mark Saunders, 32, a former pupil of the prestigious King's School in Macclesfield, died after a five-hour stand-off with police in London.

He opened fire on neighbours from his flat in Chelsea's exclusive Markham Square before getting into a gunfight with armed officers.

I live in London now-a-days and I cannot think of a reason why someone would need a licensed (or un-licensed) gun down here. Just what did he need a shotgun for? Crime down here is bad but not bad enough to constitute having shotguns!

I agree with the previous comment and will be interested to know the outcome of the toxicology report.

Lets wait for the results of what substances were in his body when he died - i'd say that would be a pretty good indicator.

Should less emphasis be placed on the results of tests and more emphasis on general education for children?
