Hospital is hit by cash crisis fear

7/ 5/2008

A CRUCIAL bid to clear Macclesfield Hospital of a £5million debt is being jeopardised by the lack of confidence in the housing market.

Health bosses were hoping the sale of the ‘Blue Zone’ area would clear the historic debt but there have been no firm offers from property developers.

This historic debt should be wiped. If its good enough for Northern Rock, its good enough for the hospital.

This is simply asset stripping as a consequence of historic underfunding of the hospital.
