Former head accused of 'mistreating special needs pupils'.

EXCLUSIVE by Pete Bainbridge
30/ 4/2008

A FORMER headteacher is facing a disciplinary panel this week over her alleged mistreatment of four young pupils with special needs.

Millicent Anne Sadler, ex-head at St Alban’s Primary School, appeared before the General Teaching Council (GTC) to deny a string of accusations – including "ranting and yelling" at a boy with Down’s syndrome, and calling a child with learning difficulties "lazy and a daydreamer".

St. Albans is indeed a wonderful school(my daughter attended between 1997 -2002). My opinion in that Mrs Sadler is where she needs to be..what goes around, comes around. Mr Duignan is where he needed to be years ago! he is the credit for that school. He and pre/afterschool club rock, Marilyn.

St Albans is an excellent school and is popular, happy place. I certainly enjoyed my years there and it's teaching and the standards for personal behaviour that it set was streets apart from the vast majority of other schools in Macc. I was fortunate enough to catch up with Mike Duignan on my recent trip home and can assure any concerned readers that the school is in very safe hands.
