‘Gladiator’ Bianchi free to walk away
by Pete Bainbridge23/ 4/2008
BUSINESSMAN Will Bianchi, who crashed his Mercedes while dressed head to toe as a Roman gladiator and over the drink-drive limit, has walked free from court.
Later described as a "bloody fool" by his own father, the dad-of-two, 38, was jailed for six months – but it was suspended for a year after magistrates heard that being locked up would "devastate" his family and business.
I wonder what kind of a discount the magistrate who dealt with this case will get the next time he shops at Arighi Bianchi store, the whole thing stinks. macc-lad

I don't think so either.

I read that he was not too drunk to remember, just that he chose not to as he was trying to evade justice, which he managed to do with the help of the pathetic magistrate(s).
He was drunk driving, and not by reports for the first time. Had it been one of his firms drivers they would have been sacked, family consequences or not.

Chairman of the bench Clive Bates told the defendant: "Looking at your previous record I would have no hesitation to putting you into an immediate custodial sentence.
So he's done it before??!!

If this "bloody fool" had killed an innocent, random person while apparently being so drunk he couldn't even remember driving, would it not have unnecessarily and permanently devastated that person's family far more than temporary separation, after 50% of which he'd have been released for good behaviour anyway? I know what I think of him, and "bloody fool" doesn't even begin to scratch the surface.

Typical UK Justice System, If you have a bit of money and the right connections your going to walk.
If he had been just a lad from one of the estates in Macc he would have been locked up.
Somebody should ask for a Retrial !!!

Disgusting. A slap on the wrist and a "don't do it again". But then again it's who you know isn't it?

Got an opinion you want to share?
Mind you, I have been the grateful recipient of tickets via the Bianchis for numerous Man United away games where tickets were hard to come by, its who you know afterall.
I cant imagine Bianchi will be overly worried by Epsilons boycott by the way.
