This week’s Time-trip features boxers, pit bike riders and a surprise birthday.

Each week we publish a set of pictures taken by Macclesfield Express photographers which appeared in the paper in the 2000s. They appear first on our website and are then reprinted in the paper.

This week we have a shot of volunteers at St Edward’s School, Fir Grove, Macclesfield, preparing the school’s vegetable beds. From left in the picture are Neil Roberts, Dave Bamford, Christopher Hill, Anthony Needham and Dave Ashton.

There is also a picture of Vincent Page (right) who was appealing for land to ride pit bikes on around the Macclesfield area, with, from left, Daniel Woodier, Andrew Lawton, Stuart Dawes, Graham Lamb.

Finally, there are photographs of Macclesfield Boys’ Boxing Club and a surprise 40th for John Hayes (front left) at The Railway Inn, Byrons Lane, Macclesfield.

The photographs were all taken in the mid-2000s. If you have any pictures you would like us to feature on this page, send them to us at communities@menmedia.co.uk or via the Facebook page.
