An inquest will open into the deaths of two victims of the Bosley mill explosion later this month.

Dorothy Bailey, 62, and William Barks, 51, lost their lives along with two others during the tragedy near Macclesfield in July.

HM Coroner for Cheshire Nicholas Rheinberg will open the inquest on Monday, October 19, at Warrington Town Hall annexe.

Cheshire Police, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service are continuing their investigation into the blast, and search efforts are ongoing.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “A scene cordon remains in place – we are aware that the closure has an impact on the local community, and we thank all concerned for their patience and understanding.”

The bodies of workers William Barks, Derek Moore and Dorothy Bailey were found in the rubble, but Jason Shingler, 38, remains missing.

Mr Moore’s inquest has already been opened.
