PRIME Minister Gordon Brown must possess one of the most underrated intellects on the planet. The man is a mental colossus.
After energising the economy with a mighty two-and-a-half per cent reduction in VAT he found time to conceive a scheme for police officers to walk home anyone feeling insecure?
It follows a pilot in east London where the public can call a hotline requesting a police escort if they are worried about walking back from a cash till or post office.
I assume there will be shelters where you can wait for your bobby. If the officer you require already has a couple of frightened folk under his wing, he may walk by without stopping in which case you’ll have to catch the next cop.
At night there’s probably no more than four officers pounding the streets of Macclesfield and Wilmslow which have a joint population of around 90,000. Now, unless my maths has deteriorated, a few dozen escorted walks could tie them all up for a week. So what’s the answer? Bendy bobbies.
Imagine a long line of jittery Jessies with a PC at each end plus a sergeant in the middle snaking along the pavement? Fearful folk could flag one down and join the line. Maybe they’ll use old police stations as terminus with signs saying ‘Change here for Moss Lane’.
And it takes the Prime Minister to think of this.
Now I know we’re in safe hands.

How come people here who can't spell and punctuate all probably went to school decades ago when schools were meant to be better, according to their usual stances?
Odd, isn't it. Looks to me like schools do better now teaching English than they did before.

For you to arbiterilly decide otherwise shows your bias and may I say total ignorance.
You are one for demanding questions and answers, and evidence, but never answer a question and never accept any evidence.

This is the classic logical fallacy of appeal to authority. For more info see here: (http://www.logicalfallacies.info/relevance/appeals/appeal-to-authority/. He may be an expert however he could also be wrong, have personal motives fro what he says, be unable to make a clear judgement in this case or simply be mistaken. He could also be right, however we have no way on knowing this without other evidence. Whilst his statement may be interesting, it only has value when backed by evidence.

And, Satisfied customer, if you do not accept my opinion then you do not accept his informed opinion.
No use an expert giving me an opinion and you not being willing to accept it.

Talking to him he blames a lot of the ills in Policing on the home office. He also said that he never knew as much political interference as in the last 10 years.
Now I for one an more than happy to accept his word and opinion.

I am happy to accept that view which is the nearest anyone has got to reality.
Gordon Brown only wants credit for what goes right under his watch, but no responsibilty for what goes wrong.
Lets face there is not much that has gone right for him.

"So therefore does it not follow that the scheme is concieved by it's authorisation by one of the P.M.s' underlings in cabinet. "
The construction of the sentence certainly makes it look like a question, but it is without a question mark. However, if we are to go down the road of punctuational pedantry, (to which I don't subscribe, but as it was raised), then there was an interesting use of it's and of P.M.s' :)
