Why I'm all for corporal punishment

ALTHOUGH I’ve never regarded myself as a loyalist, I have to say Her Majesty’s unblemished 55-year reign under the microscopic scrutiny of the world’s press is mighty impressive.

Our politicians can’t manage a term without filling their pockets or dropping their pants, while many of our religious leaders are steeped in controversy too vile to contemplate.

So when Paul Burrell’s relative hawks stories to the papers claiming Mr Burrell has seen the Queen naked, I feel a tinge of malevolence creeping up on me.

There are very few people left to respect in this world, and for her five decades of unswerving loyalty to the British people, Her Majesty deserves our deepest gratitude.

I never use the words Burrell and loyalty in the same sentence.

I’m not a huge believer in corporal punishment, but I’m discovering a growing penchant for ducking stools and disemboweling.

   Paul Burrell is a vile specimen. Does he still run that shop on the Welsh border in Rosset? He needs horse whipping.
